For those of you considering chiropractic care for the first time, you might be wondering what to expect. In some ways your visit will feel similar to any other appointment with a doctor, but in other ways the experience will differ. Here’s a general idea of what you can expect…

The check-in procedure. This part of your visit will feel familiar. We will check you in, ask you to fill out a few forms, and gather some medical history.

A few additional questions. In some cases you might notice that we ask a few more questions than you’ve encountered with other doctors. We might inquire about your sleep habits, diet, stress levels, and other parts of your daily life that seem, on the surface, unrelated to your condition. That’s because we know that a patient’s daily lifestyle influences their health. All of these things are related.

Your examination. Depending upon your symptoms, we might perform tests involving your reflexes and movement to assess the functioning of your spine and nervous system.

Your examination is designed to thoroughly investigate possible underlying causes for your symptoms, so that we can treat the problem at the source.

After the exam we will discuss the findings, what it means, and your treatment options. This is your opportunity to ask questions and to take part in designing a regimen for your condition.

Your first adjustment. After arriving at a plan for treatment, we will perform your first chiropractic adjustment. Adjustments are designed to gently correct misalignments and compressions in your spine. We strive to keep you comfortable during this process.

Most patients report that their adjustments feel great! That’s why they return to continue treatment.

If you have any questions about your first visit, feel free to ask them when you call to schedule your appointment. We want you to feel comfortable and confident when you visit us.
