After lower back pain, neck pain is the second most common ailment that we treat here at Green Chiropractic. Most people associate neck pain with whiplash, such as from a car accident, but there are actually many other reasons you can develop pain in your neck.

Neck pain is often caused by postural issues, particularly those that persist for hours out of your day, such as:

  • sitting at a desk for long periods of time
  • texting
  • forward head carriage
  • other chronic posture issues

Over time, postural issues can lead to degeneration of the cervical spine. This is the area of the spine that composes your neck. While the cervical spine is strong and flexible, it is also quite complex. It is easy to strain those muscles, ligaments, and tendons, and create alignment issues with the spine. Over time this can lead to degeneration and pain in the neck.

Depending upon your exact problem, there are many things we can do right here in our office to treat neck pain:

  • chiropractic adjustments
  • cervical traction
  • active muscle release

Our goal is to reduce strain on the cervical spine, restore proper posture, and alleviate your pain.

Even people who don’t have neck pain can benefit from chiropractic care for their neck. These people might feel tension and stress, particularly if they perform a desk job or otherwise suffer from postural problems. Chiropractic care can help them too, so that the problem doesn’t grow into a more painful situation.

If you’re suffering neck pain, or just feel a lot of tension in that area, give us a call. We can identify the source of your problem and treat it accordingly. Chiropractic care for neck pain is safe, very gentle, and can be performed right here in our office.
